A Conservative Republican Alternative for Sedgwick County Commission District 3

Why I’m running for re-election.

Since my election in 2016 I have been honored to serve Sedgwick County citizens as the District 3 County Commissioner. As with my Air Force service career and then as a teacher and throughout my life as a volunteer on statewide and local boards, I came into this job vowing to work hard, listen, bring people together to seek solutions to difficult issues and earn trust.

People initially urged me to run because they were concerned about the divisive and unnecessary actions of the majority at that time. People said they wanted a reliable and reasonable conservative for District 3. I have been honored to live up to that promise, including serving the past two years as Chairman of the Commission.

I am pleased to report that we have come a long way on the goals I stated then and have worked toward:

  • Restore Common Sense Government
  • Public Safety a Priority
  • Fiscally Conservative and Responsible
  • Low Property Taxes
  • Enhance Quality of Life
  • Ensure Core Services

We have worked hard so the County could re-establish relationships and partnerships to enhance quality of life, grow our economy, provide core services and consistent health-services, all while keeping taxes level. I was especially pleased to have some exciting announcements along the way, such as the new entry to replace the County’s 50-year-old entry as a new gateway to the Sedgwick County Zoo.

This is just one example where we got the Sedgwick County Commission back to working for the community. While I have helped lead that effort, I believe there is more work to be done. I also now have a primary opponent.

I am committed to running and serving again because I believe it is important to have consistent leadership and a steady hand as we continue on a solid path on these issues and address additional tough issues. For instance, we are working closely with the Sheriff and District Attorney and others on public safety and mental health to create the most efficient and effective solutions.

To help ensure four more years of common-sense government in a low-tax environment, I need your support. Thank you for your commitment to our community and for your past and future support.
